Logo Use

Background

Alberta's Centennial visual identity featured a stylized 2005 above the words "Alberta Centennial". The design projected a feeling of celebration, excitement and anticipation through the use of playful shapes that built up into a burst of confetti. At the same time, the selection of colors and use of old-style numerals projected a historical quality. Through these elements, the visual identity evoked a sense of fun, without being frivolous.

Criteria for Use of Centennial Logo

The following criteria were intended to provide individuals, organizations and municipalities with guidelines and conditions for the use of the Centennial Logo, when planning a celebratory event for 2005. The project or event being planned had to be specifically related to the province's 100th Anniversary in 2005.

The Alberta 2005 Centennial Logo was designed to communicate the spirit and significance of Alberta's Centennial in 2005. It was the most prominent expression of the Centennial and as such, it was the responsibility of employees, designers, agencies and suppliers to follow the Visual Identity Guidelines as attached and reproduce the identity only as described and illustrated.

With prior approval, the logo could be used by:

  • festival organizations
  • cultural organizations
  • agricultural organizations
