Dow Centennial Centre -- $1 million
The Dow Centennial Centre uniquely combines recreation and culture under one roof. Opened in 2004, the centre contains a 550-seat proscenium arch stage theatre, art gallery, and visual arts studios, plus all the amenities of a recreation centre including an indoor ice arena, indoor soccer field, gymnasium, fitness/wellness area and a running track It also offers meeting and banquet facilities suitable for hosting conferences as well as community social functions. The centre provides residents with a wide range of opportunities not previously available locally and was instrumental in attracting the 2005 National Judo Championships to Fort Saskatchewan.
