Honouring Excellence in Sports and Recreation

Know an outstanding coach, athlete or official? If you do, you have until June 30 to nominate them for the Centennial Salute to Sport and Recreation awards.

In celebration of Alberta's 100th birthday, the Centennial Salute for Sport and Recreation was established to honour and celebrate 100 Albertans for their outstanding contributions to the development of sport and recreation in the province.

Individuals, organizations or associations can nominate individuals in the following categories:

Administrator

Amateur athlete/participant

Builder

Coach

Leader

Official

Individuals who are nominated will be considered for their overall impact and contribution to sport and recreation in the following areas:

Helping to build strong organizations

Working with the disability community

Strengthening communities

Helping those who face economic, social or cultural challenges

Protection of the environment
