Team Rosters Announced for the Centennial Hockey Challenge

Are you ready to cheer on Team Alberta in the Centennial Hockey Challenge? The Western Hockey League has announced the team roster for the game being held on Thursday, April 14, 2005 in the border city of Lloydminster.

Tickets are sold out for the game but you can tune in to all the action as CBC broadcasts live from the Lloydminster Centennial Arena to both Alberta and Saskatchewan. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:00 p.m. and the opening face-off is at 7:00 p.m. (MT). Ron MacLean of CBC Television will emcee and host the Centennial Hockey Cup Challenge.

CBC Radio One will also be broadcasting the game with John Hancock, of CBC Radio Network Sports and Robin Brown, host of the Inside Track, providing live play-by-play coverage.

All the proceeds from the event will be directed in support of the WHL Education Fund, the Hockey Alberta Foundation and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association Legacy Fund.

Partners supporting the Centennial Hockey Challenge include the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Saskatchewan and Alberta Centennial Committees.
