Albertans can send a special invitation from Premier Ralph Klein to encourage their families and friends to visit Alberta and participate in Alberta Centennial celebrations.
The Premier's Alberta Centennial Invitation Program asks Albertans to submit the names and addresses of family members and friends who live outside Alberta to receive a personalized letter from Premier Klein inviting them to travel to the province during Alberta's centennial year.
Albertans can use free, postage-paid postcards, which are available in a variety of locations, to submit the names and addresses of people they want to invite to Alberta, or submit their information online. The people whose names are submitted will receive a personalized letter from the Premier, as well as a two-for-one admission pass to Alberta historic sites, interpretive centres and museums. There is no cost to participate in the program.
Postcards and posters promoting the Premier's Alberta Centennial Invitation Program are available at public libraries, municipal offices, Travel Alberta visitor information centres, most banks and MLA offices.
TELUS is presenting a contest as part of the program. All names submitted by June 29, 2005 will be entered for a chance to win airfare and accommodation for up to four people to attend Alberta Centennial events being held this September.
