Centennial Project Celebrating 100 Years of Alberta Schools

Students are being invited to free their imaginations and tell the special history of their schools as part of the centennial Alberta School History Project: If Walls Could Speak...

Students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, are invited to tell Albertans the story of their schools through words, video, music, pictures, art, dance, imagination multimedia - imagination is the only limit. Each student participating in the final selection will receive a certificate, and each school participating will be entered in a prize draw for electronic equipment for the school.

The If Walls Could Speak project will culminate September 1-5, 2005 when a selection of submissions from students around Alberta will appear in the Edmonton Journal and Calgary Herald, as well as be featured on Global TV.

Posters and information brochures have been sent to all schools in Alberta. Information on project registration and submission details are also available on the Alberta Education website.

Alberta School History Projects must be submitted to Alberta Education by May 27, 2005.
