Shell's Spirit of the Future Awards

In honour of the centennial, Shell Canada has teamed up with Global Television to salute young people who are shaping Alberta's future.

Shell's Spirit of the Future Awards is an Alberta-wide scholarship program recognizing individuals, ages 16 to 25, who are contributing to Alberta's future through their education and volunteer pursuits. While individuals can nominate themselves, all applications must be endorsed by the not-for-profit organization with which the applicant volunteers.

There are 30 Spirit of the Future Awards to be won. Each winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship towards their post-secondary education and Shell will make a $5,000 contribution to the not-for-profit organization with which the winner volunteers. Winners will also star in their own television vignette that will air across Alberta on Global Television's network in the last half of 2005.

Entries must be received or post-marked on or before 12:00 noon June 1, 2005. Late applications will not be accepted.

For all the application details and contest rules, visit the Shell Canada website.
