Alberta's centennial grant programs are helping improve communities around Alberta. An upgraded recreation park in Camrose is providing new leisure opportunities for youth, families and seniors all year round.
The Rudy Swanson Recreation Park legacy project in Camrose involved the construction, completion and upgrading of several facilities. A new multi-purpose fieldhouse is providing a safe and warm year-round exercise area for seniors, as well as a venue for ball hockey, basketball, unstructured sports, Air Cadets, and community events such as banquets and dances. A new, colourful spray park provides recreation opportunities for youth and families, and a new skateboard park offers youth further opportunities for skateboarding, in-line skating and BMX riding. The project also included upgrades to the Camrose Aquatic Centre.
