Eskimos and Riders go Head to Head with Centennial Gridiron Challenge
The Edmonton Eskimos, Saskatchewan Roughriders and the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan are jointly celebrating their centennials with a special Centennial Gridiron Challenge. The second game of the series takes place in Edmonton on October 15.
The Centennial Challenge takes advantage of two regularly scheduled CFL games between the Eskimos and Roughriders. The first game was in Regina on September 18. The Roughriders took the lead in the Centennial Challenge with a win of 37 to 36.
The winner of the Centennial Gridiron Challenge will be determined by the total points in both games and will secure bragging rights for the next 100 years.
In addition, Football Alberta and Football Saskatchewan will each receive $7500 from the Eskimos and Roughriders in support of amateur football.
