Alberta's Greatest Featured in CBC Documentary Airing October 26

Who is the greatest Albertan? In a one-hour documentary - ALBERTA 100 - airing on CBC Television Wednesday, October 26, host Ron MacLean will count down 100 of Alberta's greatest citizens to help mark the province's centennial year. The CBC production will run at 9:00 MT.

From authors and activists to outriders and mavericks, the program depicts Alberta as a diverse, successful province. Some of the people nominated include singers Jann Arden, K.D.Lang, Ian Tyson, actors Leslie Nielsen and Fay Wray, writer and environmentalist Andy Russell, Metis elder Victoria Callihoo, former Lieutenant Governor Lois Hole, publisher Mel Hurtig and musician and senator Tommy Banks.

To find out who made the list, tune in to ALBERTA 100 airing across the CBC Television network on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 9:00 p.m. MT.

The list of the Alberta 100 was put together with the help of a panel of advisors and with input from a public survey. It is produced by Pyramid Productions in collaboration with CBC Television.
