CFL Football Jersey Promotion

Players on Alberta’s two Canadian Football League (CFL) teams – the Edmonton Eskimos and the Calgary Stampeders – will wear an Alberta 2005 Centennial crest on both their home and away jerseys.

Crests will appear on the jerseys starting with the Labour Day Classic football game on September 6, 2004, in Calgary and the return engagement September 10 in Edmonton.

Alberta ’s minor football teams will also be provided with crests for their jerseys. North of Red Deer, the Edmonton Eskimos organization will distribute the patches to minor football teams during September 2004, in time for the football season. The Calgary Stampeders organization will distribute patches to teams in Red Deer and southern Alberta.

Carrying on the tradition from the province's celebrations for its 75th birthday, the CFL teams approached the Alberta 2005 Centennial Initiative with ideas to celebrate the province's 100th birthday. In addition to the crests, the teams will continue to promote the centennial during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
