Lougheed Residence

Lougheed House was built in 1891 for Senator James Lougheed and his wife Isabella Hardisty, grandparents of Alberta’s eleventh Premier, Peter Lougheed. The sandstone building and its 2.8-acre grounds symbolized the growth and prosperity that followed the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1883. A source of pride for many Albertans, the interior and exterior of this significant historical resource will be restored.
